Owners of Large Properties
Properties where the main house, cottages, stables and outbuildings sit hundreds of metres apart and copper will not carry the distance.
What large properties need from an installer
Distance is the defining problem on a large property. A router in the main house cannot serve a cottage 200 metres away, and copper runs between buildings pick up lightning and interference. The work starts with fibre links between structures, then wireless coverage and surveillance layered on top of that backbone.
Requirements we plan around
- Fibre or wireless links between buildings rather than long copper runs
- Coverage across gardens, yards, stables and outbuildings, not just the house
- Cameras that cover the perimeter and driveways that are actually visible from a monitor
- Power and surge protection for equipment in outbuildings
How the project runs
- 1We survey the property layout and confirm which buildings need connectivity and why.
- 2Routes are planned for ducting, trenching or aerial spans, with approvals agreed in writing.
- 3The backbone is installed and tested first, then coverage and cameras are added.
- 4Remote access and monitoring are configured for owners who are frequently away.
Questions we are asked most often
If your question is not covered here, call and ask directly — the answer is usually short.
Where a duct or existing route does not exist, trenching or an aerial span is quoted separately so you can see the cost of each option before deciding.
